**Location - Hamilton International Airport 9300 Airport Road, Mount Hope**
**Hours of Operation (Subject to Change): 03:30-21:00**
**Hiring for Multiple Positions - 2 Full-time**

Dark Horse Espresso Bar is a pioneer in the Toronto specialty coffee community and has become a spot attracting those who like great coffee, handmade pastries, and a comfortable environment. The inspiration for Dark Horse came from a desire to create an environment where people would feel a sense of belonging. A place where they could come to relax, reflect or socialize, and re-energize with seriously great coffee. Over the past 15 years, we have evolved from one beloved neighborhood cafe to a collection of six shops in vibrant neighborhoods across the city.

**General Responsibilities**
- Provide exceptional customer service and foster a warm and inclusive environment
- Prepare coffee beverages according to company recipes (with a specific emphasis on accurate dial-ins of our Espresso menu)
- Prepare and serve alcoholic beverages, including mixed cocktails, beer, wine, and canned beverages.
- Support all product and services at cafe including food, pastry and merchandising
- Continue to enhance collaboration with our partners at Detour Coffee & Dear Grain Bakery
- Represent Dark Horse within the specialty coffee community
- Act with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission of Dark Horse
- Follow health and safety policies
- Follow all rules and regulations in place at John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport (YHM)
- Provide management with feedback on how we can improve our processes
- Demonstrate strategic understanding of food service operations by providing recommendations
- Execute (when necessary) ordering, inventory management, queue management, and more
- Follows all operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling & safety, security during each shift
- Taking food and beverage orders using POS system (when necessary)
- Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality

**Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**
- Experience within a specialty coffee program
- Well-developed personal brand and a proven ability to build relationships across an industry.
- Should be an active member of the specialty coffee community
- A proven executor that has participated the successful growth of food properties
- Comfortable with key hospitality software including POS, scheduling and purchasing systems
- Highly accountable and well-organized, with an ability to oversee a team of staff and prioritize multiple projects
- An insatiable curiosity and willingness to learn, anchored in a constant pursuit of personal development
- Collaborative and innovative consensus builder that solicits 360-degree feedback
- Can inspire and influence staff, consumers and other stakeholders
- A positive ambassador with strong communication skills and a genuine kindness, thoughtfulness.
- Must hold valid Ontario Smart Serve and Ontario Food Handler certifications.

- Hospitality: 3 years
- Specialty coffee : 1 year
- RAIC approval or willingness to take.

**Schedule and Pay**
- Monday to Friday & Weekends
- This is a federal property location and will have non-standard working hours
- Compensation $17.20 to $17.75 per hour, plus gratuities
