Being a concrete formwork company, we specialize in the construction of high-rise buildings. Our structural formwork division is now looking to hire an experienced 'Construction Safety Officer’ to join our team.

Construction Safety Officer

Quorum Structural Forming Ltd. is seeking out applicants to take on a role as Construction Safety Officer for one of our upcoming projects. Construction Safety Officer works closely with the Head of the Safety Department and other management team members ensuring safety across the organization.

**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Support Site Management & QG Safety Manager on-site throughout construction.
- Render First Aid as required.
- Regularly monitor health, safety and compliance of workers.
- Monitor RTW / Gradual RTW Plans for VWC workers.
- Review & monitor trade-specific OHS Programs & monitor for effectiveness.
- Review & Maintain records of instruction on VWC (QG) SWP’s, Site-Specific Fall Protection Plan, Site-Specific Exposure Control Plan, QG Communicable Disease Plan
- Enforce VWC (QG) SWP’s, Site-Specific / Trade-Specific Fall Protection Plan, Site-Specific / Trade-Specific Exposure Control Plan, QG / Trade-Specific Communicable Disease Plan policies & monitor for effectiveness.
- Development of site-specific safe work procedures as required. To be reviewed by the Safety Manager prior to enactment.
- Conduct site-specific health, safety and environment orientations for all new site workers.
- Ensure that all accidents, incidents and injuries are properly reported to all appropriate parties (trade supervisors, site management, QG Safety Manager, WSBC, etc.).
- Participate in site Trade Production Meetings.
- Coordinate & maintain records of Monthly Site Safety Meetings between all trades onsite.
- Participate as a member of the QG JHSC Committee and attend all monthly meetings.
- Facilitate and participate in site inspections and implement corrective action as required.
- Conduct weekly toolbox meetings with VWC employees & management and monitor the submissions of weekly trade safety / toolbox meetings.
- Maintain and prepare thorough documentation and reports.
- Keep management updated on issues or concerns as they arise.
- Assist with labour duties and site maintenance as required.

**Requirements/Qualifications**:

- Minimum OFA 2 with Transportation Endorsement (OFA 3 is preferred).
- Construction Safety Officer certification preferred (mandatory when working in the City of Vancouver).
- Supervising for Safety (WSBC), Leadership in Safety Excellence (BCCSA), CSTS-9, JHSC training all considered to be assets that will be provided / coordinated if not already possessed.
- Fall Protection certificate within the last 3 years is required.
- Any other industry specific training is considered an asset (TCP, Confined Space, H2S, etc.).
- Computer literacy and familiar with programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. Company specific reporting software instruction to be held once applicant has been accepted.
- Effective communication skills & the ability to assess situations and make decisions as required.
