- ROLE SUMMARY
- Under the authority of the department manager, the incumbent is responsible for the administration of the College's entire network as well as network-related security services. The incumbent will grow in a diverse and challenging environment and be part of a team that values mutual support.- FUNCTIONS
- As part of his/her duties, the Network Administration Technician:

- Installs, configures, and administers the various networking devices under the responsibility of IST, as well as the software on those in accordance with various policies and procedures.
- Ensures the proper operation (installations, maintenance, repairs, upgrades) and improvement of network infrastructures (cabling, switches, routers, hubs, gateways, fiber optics, terminals, WiFi, etc.).
- Enforces various security and integrity policies and mechanisms for access to resources and monitors them with firewall or other peripheral security software.
- Provides assistance to technicians assigned to 1st level support in the diagnosis and resolution of network related problems.
- Maintains up-to-date documentation of infrastructure, administration, installation and configuration procedures for various network components.
- Makes recommendations and advises analysts and the management team.
- Actively participates as a team in the implementation of technological infrastructures required by the various College projects.
- Participates in the evolution of equipment, software and systems that the College considers for deployment.
- Performs occasional maintenance outside of normal working hours.
- Performs all other related tasks.
- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Must have a minimum of a college diploma (DEC) with an appropriate field of specialization (Computer Science Techniques, Network Option, Electronics Techniques, Network Option, etc.) or a diploma whose equivalence is recognized by the competent authority.
- Must have a minimum of 4 years of experience relevant to the duties of the position.
- Must have excellent knowledge of Microsoft products such as Windows Azure, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP and Microsoft Defender.
- A good knowledge of English is essential (written, spoken and comprehension) and functional French is required.
- Excellent knowledge of networking (CCNA or Fortinet certification) would be considered an asse
