Security Programs Manager
As our Security Programs Manager, you will be overseeing a portfolio of provincial and critical infrastructure contracts and managing all aspects of Paladin business within it. This includes not only being a tiered point of client contact, but also managing the security team that works within the portfolio. You will be working regularly with the Client Service Manager (CSM), security staff, and clients to ensure that everyone’s needs are met.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with CSM and the clients in the portfolio
- Performing interviews and meeting all new staff being considered for sites within the portfolio
- Ensuring all staff within the portfolio have adequate training based on industry, corporate and client standards
- Providing motivational and disciplinary discussions with staff
- Responding to communications from clients or staff in a timely manner
- Conducting performance evaluations of staff on an as-needed basis, and in accordance with company policies
- Ensuring that there are thorough Site Training and Employee Orientation programs in place at all sites within the portfolio and that all newly-assigned staff demonstrates competence on site
- Ensuring that there are adequate numbers of trained security staff to meet all of Paladin’s contractual obligations within the portfolio of business
- Developing and maintaining frequent security evaluations of client facilities, and ensuring appropriate recommendations are made to the CSM so that clients security needs are met
- Communicating appropriate information to our Operations Centre and/or Field Managers to ensure that any outstanding issues are dealt with in a timely fashion
- Monitoring Incident Reports and taking appropriate action
- Remaining on-call as an after-hours resource for emergencies
- Reporting regularly to the CSM on matters of company or client interest or significant events
- Ensuring all sites have up to date and complete Site Orders both in hard copy on site and in digital copy on the network server
- Developing and promoting Paladin’s business where possible in a professional and positive manner
- Ensuring that all services in the portfolio are delivered in accordance with the client’s wishes and best interests, and in accordance with Paladin’s Code of Ethics
- Performing other duties as needed to assist with corporate and/or branch needs
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- 2 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity, preferably in a Security setting
- Valid Class BC 5 Driver’s License and a vehicle that will be used for work purposes
- Effective communication, both in writing and verbally, including delivering presentations to groups
- Working knowledge of appropriate legislation and provincial/national standards on building codes, security, and protection of privacy
- Willingness to join and participate in industry professional associations and have a desire to learn through professional certification processes
- Post-secondary education in security management, criminology or related discipline would be an asset
- Ability to lead, plan, organize, delegate and problem solve
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Professionalism and effective people management skills
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position, which may include walking and/or standing for long periods
**SALARY: $60,000 - $65,000 per year**
