**Overview**
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optical Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional customer service while running the daily operations of our optical practice. You will work closely with both patients, other optical staff and doctors to ensure a smooth and efficient experience for all.

**Duties**
- Greet patients and assist them with their optical needs, providing information on products and services.
- Help patients select eyewear that suits their style and prescription requirements.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and insurance information.
- Process orders for eyewear, including lenses and frames, ensuring accuracy in specifications.
- Assist with laboratory tasks such as repairs and frame adjustments as needed.
- Collaborate with the optical team to manage inventory levels and restock supplies and perform merchandising duties.
- Utilize Optosys or similar software for patient management and appointment scheduling.
- Educate patients on proper eyewear care and usage, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.

**Skills**
- Strong sales skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in a retail environment.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to eye care is a plus.
- Experience in laboratory settings is beneficial for handling optical equipment.
- Proficiency in using Optosys or similar electronic health record systems is advantageous.
- Knowledge of optical products, including lenses and frames, enhances customer interactions.
- Background in retail management or retail sales will contribute to operational success.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact professionally with patients and team members.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
