As the Ministry of Forestry and Parks we are responsible for growing Alberta’s environmentally responsible wood products and forestry sector. We protect Alberta’s forests from wildfire and preserve our provincial parks for the recreation and enjoyment of Albertans. As well as enabling access to public lands for recreational and commercial purposes while prioritizing conservation. Forestry and Parks also manages public lands and balances sustainable rangelands and grazing leases for Alberta producers.

You will report to the Forestry Systems Modernization lead and support the Director of Business Technology and Modernization within the Forestry Division, you will be responsible for tracking technology projects throughout their intake, planning, implementation, and operational phases. As the Forestry Technology Coordinator, you will facilitate reporting, communication, and change management strategies by compiling and maintaining essential project artifacts across the portfolio.

Your key responsibilities include project administration, ensuring activity completion, tracking dependencies, managing records, and providing routine briefings and status updates. As the coordinator you will also assist with broader initiatives and project teams by developing documentation, supporting portfolio management activities, and compiling status reports.

In this position you will operate in a complex environment, working closely with various program areas within the Forestry Division, partnering ministries, and product team members from the Digital Design and Delivery Branch within Technology and Innovation. As the Forestry Technology Coordinator, you have excellent organizational skills and can adapt to diverse stakeholders needs across multiple projects and initiatives in this fast-paced role. This work can be dynamic, and you must be able to adapt as digital transformation and modernization progresses.

**Qualifications**:
Education and Experience:
University graduation in either Forestry or Business Administration or related field plus 2 years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described below.

Equivalency:
Directly related education or experience considered based on: 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

This is a full-time, temporary opportunity and located in Edmonton. Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:15AM - 4:30PM, 7.25 hours a day and 36.25 hours a week.
