Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a **Maintenance Manager **at our **Woodbridge, ON **manufacturing plant. This position organizes and directs the installation, repair, and maintenance of production equipment and facilities. Maintenance manager is responsible for improvement of equipment availability, development and implementation of preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. As the **Maintenance Manager, **you will be expected to organize and direct the installation, repair, and maintenance of production equipment and facilities.
Your additional responsibilities as **Maintenance Manager **will include:
- Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of workers who install, repair and maintain industrial machinery and equipment.
- Maintain full functionality of the plant’s fire systems, machinery, and facilities.
- Implement and coordinate preventative and predictive maintenance activities.
- Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other departments.
- Prioritize and schedule maintenance activities to balance machinery & equipment availability.
- Requisition materials and supplies and manage department consumables.
- Maintain records including plant process diagrams, site engineering drawings, etc.
- Resolve work bottlenecks and recommend work measures to improve productivity.
- Prepare work progress reports.
- Collaborate with senior management to ensure timely achievement of the goals set for each year.
- Train and coach all maintenance employees.
- Monitor and evaluate employees’ performance and prepare reports as required.
- Ensure that standards for safe working conditions are observed.
- Develop and/or revise SOPs and safe work protocols.
- Lead investigations of all internal and external complaints.
- Conduct periodic observations in the work areas to enforce health & safety standards.
- Review and approve personnel time records on a daily basis.
- Use Kaizen continuous improvement methods to achieve goals.
- Promote and maintain the value of order philosophy and activities.
- Maintain applied knowledge of company's H&S management system.
- Maintain applied knowledge of company's Quality management system.
- Maintain applied knowledge of relevant SAP transactions.
- Participate in new hires selection process.

- A strong working knowledge of safety regulations related to manufacturing business.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work with a team and independently in a time-sensitive environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- SAP experience is an asset.
Qualifications **(required)**
- 10+ years of manufacturing experience as a Licensed Red Seal Millwright
- Electrical licence &/or electronic background would be an asset
- 10+ years of management experience in maintenance field, providing leadership and support to maintenance crew
- Ability to run a Preventative Maintenance schedule
