**Job Description**:
**Position Summary**:
Cambridge Memorial Hospital is currently looking for an effective leader who demonstrates a management style which is visionary, creative and collaborative to lead our Labour and Delivery, Postpartum, Paediatrics and Special Care Nursery units. Reporting to the Director, Perioperative, Women and Children’s Program, and in collaboration with program medical leadership, the Manager provides leadership for the multidisciplinary health care team in providing care to families in our program. In this role, you will utilize your team building and change management skills to lead the team to provide safe and excellent care, promoting a culture of respect, collaboration and safety. You will be accountable for the quality of patient care, utilization of resources, professional practice with an academic focus, and for developing innovative, team-based approaches to the day-to-day management of the area in the delivery of service.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Manage the day to day operations of the Labour and Delivery, Postpartum, Paediatrics and Special Care Nursery units, assuming responsibility for the quality of patient care, maintaining efficient and effective operations within a defined budget, and ensuring professional practice and staff development are in keeping with current standards
- Promote best practices and evidence based care through the implementation of initiatives that are aligned with the strategic directions of the organization
- Responsible for ensuring that roles, responsibilities, functions and care delivery models continue to evolve to meet changing patient/family, departmental and corporate needs
- Develops and works with the team to implement and evaluate quality improvement projects
- Participates actively in program specific and hospital-wide initiatives through committee and hospital planning and management forums
- Participate in the development of policies, procedures, and processes meeting industry professional practice and quality standards
- Participate in and support data collection and submission for BORN, CritiCall Ontario and other provincial agencies as required
- Collaborate with external partners in the provision of patient care services

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or undergraduate degree in related health field required
- A Masters degree in Nursing, health administration, or a related program preferred
- Three to five years’ leadership experience in related field
- Minimum of (5) years experience working with obstetrical patients and families in the clinical setting
- CNA certification in Perinatal Nursing preferred
- NRP and Fetal Health Surveillance Certification preferred
- Demonstrated human resources management skills in a unionized environment required
- Demonstrated commitment to the visions, goals, mission and values of the hospital
- Demonstrated leadership, human resources management, financial and risk management skills
- Proven success in providing collaborative leadership in a team environment and ability to encourage innovation and creativity among staff
- Demonstrated effectiveness with managing change in a complex health care environment
- Excellent decision making skills, which reflect sensitivity to financial, operating and human resource constraints
- Committed to excellence in exceptional patient care and continual focus on quality improvement and results driven outcomes
- Ability to deliver a strong vision of values-based, patient centred service delivery model
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a proven track record of fostering collaborative partnerships
- Demonstrated collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to develop, manage and evaluate programs/services considering client needs and the service delivery model
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
