Required is a hands-on goal-oriented Production Supervisor with a passion for providing leadership and direction to their team. Your desire to work hard and your ability to plan, motivate, meet deadlines and ensure your team produces quality products would make you successful in this critical role. Your ability to lead by example is essential.
- Drive the Production processes under the direction of the Head of Operations
- Provide leadership, guidance and direction to direct reports
- Monitor, train, develop and supervise employees training activities
- Responsible for employees’ performance related to their level of safety, quality, and productivity
- Allocate workflow to ensure production targets are met and communicated effectively
- Inspect product to ensure quality workmanship and scheduling targets are met
- Maintain Health and Safety standards at all times ensuring rules are adhered to
- Respond to employee concerns promptly
- Troubleshoot equipment
- Ensure department housekeeping is maintained at a high level
- Facilitate and conduct daily employee meetings
- Assist with the recruitment and selection process of hiring new employees
- Monitor, track and approve employee hours
- Perform performance appraisals and take disciplinary/corrective action as required
- Communicate, implement and ensure compliance with all company policies and legislative requirement
- Participate in Workplace safety inspections and audits
- Maintain contact with other Supervisors to obtain, exchange, clarify the status of work and the capacity to meet daily production commitments
- Investigate incidents, accidents and near miss events as required
- Work with Materials & Logistics Department to identify and correct inventory accuracy issues

**Qualifications**
- Post-Secondary education is preferred. Trade certification in related field an asset
- Experience working in a unionized environment an asset
- Quality and process improvement experience a strong asset
- Forklift License an asset
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Proven leadership and supervisory skills
- Experience implementing and solidifying procedures to help steer efforts to meet business objectives
- Capable of problem solving in high stressed, fast paced environments
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to troubleshoot minor equipment problems
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience supervising a team within a manufacturing environment
- Keen sense of urgency and commitment to outstanding manufacturing excellence
- Confident using MS Office for daily operational reports
