**Overview**

SOL Bakehouse is a new café and bakehouse opening in Guelph, built on warmth, creativity, and community. We serve thoughtfully crafted coffee, fresh baked goods, and good energy — all in a boho-chic space that’s as fun as it is welcoming. We believe in great food, kind service, and creating a space people want to return to again and again.

We’re building our _opening team_ and are looking for passionate, reliable, and positive individuals to join us in creating something special from the ground up.

We are seeking dedicated Bakers to join our team. As our Baker, you’ll be an integral part of our kitchen team — crafting beautiful, consistent, and delicious baked goods that set the tone for our entire menu. From morning pastries to sweet treats, you’ll bring our vision to life through your skills, attention to detail, and love for the craft.

**Duties**
- Prepare and bake daily offerings including pastries, cookies, loaves, biscuits, and seasonal items
- Manage doughs, batters, fillings, glazes, and toppings with precision
- Follow and improve upon existing recipes while maintaining quality and consistency
- Assist with menu development, seasonal specials, and creative product ideas
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe kitchen at all times
- Collaborate with the café team to ensure smooth morning and midday service
- Work early mornings (shifts may start as early as 5-6AM)
- Follow all health and safety regulations related to food service and preparation

**Skills**
- Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations.
- Strong basic math skills.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment.
- Ability to prepare food items while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.

**What We’re Looking For**
- Experience in a commercial bakery or professional kitchen (1+ years preferred)
- Strong understanding of baking techniques, food safety, and time management
- Passion for baking, creativity, and pride in your product
- Organized, dependable, and able to work independently or as part of a small team
- Flexible and open to feedback as we build the kitchen program together

Pay: From $17.20 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- On call
- Weekends as needed
