The Faculty of Social Sciences at the King’s University is seeking a sessional instructor(s) in Geography for
the following courses in the 2025-26 academic year. Each course meets for 3 hours of lecture per week, plus
a 3-hour lab.

**COURSE DESCRIPTIONS**

Fall 2025

GEOG 350 - Geographical Information Systems
Lecture: Tues., Thurs., 8:00am - 10:30 am, Lab: Fri., 2:00pm - 5:00pm
and manipulation, spatial problem solving, and map presentation using GIS software on micro
- computers. Students complete a GIS-based project.

GEOG 450 - Advanced Geographic Information Systems
Lecture: Tues., Thurs., 8:00am - 10:30 am, Lab: Fri., 2:00pm - 5:00pm
information systems. Hands-on lab assignments focus on geo-databases, metadata, data input,
relational databases, advanced map design, and advanced techniques using GIS software. Students
mentor introductory students, complete a paper and complete an advanced project.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- MA or PhD in Geography or related field
- Post-secondary teaching experience as either a primary instructor or teaching assistant
- Assent to the University’s Christian Statement of Faith
