**Responsibilities**:
The Environmental Manager is responsible for leading the environmental team, managing the budget, and developing business cases for environmental improvements. This role includes overseeing environmental projects, ensuring regulatory compliance and adherence to permit conditions. The Environmental Manager will collaborate closely with the operations, maintenance, and asset management departments to promote environmental stewardship within the organization.
- Lead a team of full-time staff and consultants.
- Manage the Environmental Management System and spearhead initiatives to reduce waste, water consumption, and carbon footprint.
- Create and manage business cases for environmental improvement projects.
- Assist with maintenance projects related to environmental systems.
- Oversee and manage all sell-regulated and third-party environmental audits.
- Ensure the client operates in full compliance with all applicable regulations and permits.
- Develop and implement strategies and action plans for long-term sustainability.
- Coordinate effectively with Maintenance, Operations, and Asset Management departments.
- Work closely with the Health and Safety department to leverage resources and best practices.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies on environmental stewardship and compliance.
- Build effective relationships with shareholders to identify best practices and enhance waterfront environmental practices.

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- Minimum 5 years in Environmental Management, including 2 years in an industrial setting.
- Strong project management, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Expertise in developing and implementing environmental processes, workflows, and policies.
- Experience in highly industrialized environments.
- Post-secondary education in Environmental Sciences.
- Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) designation _(preferred)_
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Proven ability to create business cases and manage budgets for environmental projects
- Experience with self-regulated and third-party environmental audits.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance and permit conditions.
- Commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability practices.
