Cobble Hill, Canada Fisher Road Recycling - DL Bins Full time

Roles and responsibilities are as follows:

- Welcomes customers and directs to the proper waste drop off area in Transfer Station.
- Educates customers on current recycling and waste mitigation practices.
- Ensures materials are in correct disposal areas and sort material where required.
- Ability to divert/remove recyclable items from customer waste drop off loads - Our mission is to divert as much material from the landfill as possible We get dirty so the environment doesn’t have to.
- Follow recycling stewardship rules and regulations on accepted materials.
- Enforce proper traffic safety rules and guide customers when necessary.
- Conducts visual inspections of loads being brought in and prevent disposal of prohibited/hazardous materials.
- Be able to work independently and as a team.
- Experience or willingness to operate a Bobcat Skid Steer
- Ability to follow site specific policies and procedures such as Skid Steer Pre-trip procedures, Bin Loading Procedures, etc.
- Willingness or experience operating weigh scales and handling cash/credit transactions.
- Be physically fit and able to lift 30 lbs on a regular basis or as required.

This is a permanent full-time position based on 4 x 10-hour shifts - Shifts are Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. Training period for two weeks will be Tuesday-Friday.

The successful applicant will also complete regular composting testing using specialized industry equipment - Training will be provided.

Any experience in the recycling, waste management and composting industries is considered an asset but not required.
