Split Shift Dispatcher

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The incumbent will work co-operatively with the Operations Supervisor and fellow Dispatchers in a small, open office environment. Main duties include interacting with all drivers in a polite and professional manner, ensuring route coverage, managing the two-way radio communication, liaison with the shop regarding bus service and maintenance, interacting with the school board, greeting visitors, handling incoming calls and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner and other tasks as assigned. General office duties include filing, keyboarding, photocopying and faxing. Safety and positive customer relations are the cornerstones of this position. A key component of employment at Northway Bus Lines is a demonstrated initiative to assist others in other areas when requested or required.

**QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE**:
Previous dispatch experience would be an asset, however not a requirement. The incumbent must possess the ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing. Bilingual applicants would be an asset. The ability to multi-task includes being flexible and adaptable. Customer service experience would be beneficial. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required along with the ability to be flexible to work in a fast-paced environment. To succeed in the position, the incumbent must exhibit politeness and professionalism to all customers internal and external and be a team player with the ability to work with others. Must hold a Valid B class driver’s licence.

Pay: From $19.57 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
