**JOB TITLE: Packaging Buyer**

The Packaging Buyer is a key member of the Supply Chain team, ensuring uninterrupted availability and flow of packaging materials to support our Owner and Copack Partners Brands while at the same time achieving inventory and cost targets. This role is responsible for the Purchasing strategy, vendor management and execution of Waterloo Brewing’s packaging material purchases. Subfunctions of the role include creating budget standard costs, BOM creation, Inventory management, and reporting cost variances.

**Forecasting and Long term ordering**: Working closely with the Production Planner, to translate production requirements into supplier forecasts and placing purchase orders to ensure sufficient materials are available when required.

**Vendor Management**: Working with our vendors to ensure agreed-upon performance metrics are met, while supporting new product launches and graphic changes and quality hold resolutions. Additionally understand supply risk factors that could affect our suppliers supply chain. At times, forming an RFP strategy for contract renewals, vendor selection and evaluation.

**Execution**: Lead a material coordinator that is responsible for the daily/weekly execution of the material purchasing plan to support the production plant.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Own, maintain, and continuously improve our material forecasting model
- Routinely meet with stakeholders and monitor changes to Commercial plan, Copack forecast, brewery projects, and inventory health to continuously update our suppliers on our purchasing needs

**Qualifications**:

- University degree / Supply Chain Diploma preferred, or on the job purchasing experience
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Supply Chain or Inventory management role within a fast pace manufacturing environment
- Experience in Beverage Manufacturing an asset
- CSCP or CSCMP or other certifications through APICS or Supply Chain Canada preferred but not required
- Ability to make decisions without knowing all the information and taking calculated risks
- Results focused, with exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong Business acumen, communication, and the ability to effectively manage internal and external relationships
