PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
As a member of the Maintenance team, the PLC COOP reports to the PLC Specialist. The PLC COOP is responsible for designing control systems for new machines, troubleshooting and/or modifying existing.
Define and execute continuous improvement projects
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Designs, develops, and implements Control Systems- Programs PLC’s (Allen Bradley and Siemens)- Programs HMI & servo systems and VFDs- Programs robotics and automation systems- Program and trouble shoot Vision systems (IR vision, Cognex, Keyence, Omron)- Designs control panels, wiring diagrams and BOM- Instructs maintenance personnel on the use, functionality, and programming of all automation systems- Mentors licensed Electricians and help them develop PLC programming and troubleshooting skills- Assists in automation cell improvements and actively implements continuous improvement initiatives related to automation and robotics.- Adheres to Johnson Electric's policies and procedures- Adheres and supports Johnson Electric's Safety and Environmental policies and practices- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE:
- A three-year advanced diploma or a degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or relative areas- Able to understand electrical drawings- Part of a program including programing courses.- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint or data and presentations software
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Proficient in English

Good interpersonal skills.
