Tier 3 / IT Infrastructure Technician

Alt-Tech Inc, a Sherwood Park based Cyber Security and Managed Service Provider (MSP) Company, is currently recruiting a full-time and permanent IT Infrastructure Analyst to join our team. With over 15 years of experience in computer systems, networks, and cyber security, we provide a wide range of support services to small, medium, and large businesses.

You will play a crucial role in the design, installation, and support of computer systems and networks. You will collaborate with our team of certified IT professionals to ensure the smooth operation of our clients' infrastructure. This includes cyber security measures, network designs, hosting and implementation, server implementation, and training services.

**Responsibilities**:

- Providing technical support and troubleshooting to clients, both remotely and on-site in the greater Edmonton Area, resolving dispatched and escalated IT issues promptly and efficiently.
- Pro-actively conducting regular system audits to ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Assisting in the designing, installation, and maintenance of computer systems, networks, and servers.
- Monitoring and managing network performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing necessary changes.
- Collaborating with team members to develop and implement cybersecurity measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
- Participating in the planning and execution of technology projects, ensuring their successful completion within budget and timeline.
- Participating in an after-hours On-Call and rapid response weekly rotation.
- Providing training and guidance to end-users on utilizing hardware, software, and other IT solutions effectively.
- Participating or completing job related tasks and duties as assigned by management.
- Staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, recommending improvements and innovative solutions to enhance our IT infrastructure.

**Requirements**:

- Post-secondary related diploma or degree in Computer Technology or related discipline preferred. A combination of experience and education would be considered.
- Microsoft certification would be an asset.
- 5+ years of practical experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining computer systems and networks for small to large businesses.
- Practical Experience in cloud computing platforms, mainly Azure, and can administer, deploy, and maintain infrastructure in the cloud.
- Proficient in network administration, including configuring routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Proficient in auditing and implementing cyber security measures; MFA, Zero-day protection, DNS filtering,
- Excellent knowledge of industry best practices for IT infra design, installation, and support.
- Practical Experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMware or Hyper-V, and be able to manage virtual environments effectively.
- Possess strong problem-solving skills and be able to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to IT infrastructure.
- Able to build and maintain effective relationships with customers and peers.
- A valid class 5 license with insurance experience and a clean driving abstract.
