The YMCA of Cumberland is dedicated to the development of programs and services that suit the needs of some of the most vulnerable people in our community. The Homelessness Prevention and Housing Support team services are complimented by data collection and expressing the need of the department to continue to support our client base. This role will include program-based research with data collection opportunities that help to inform what interventions are needed to better support people experiencing homelessness, assist with poverty reduction, and contribute to creative solutions.

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Create research methodology for a program-based activity
- Design program for a particular group
- Review current literature on group and research question
- Facilitate program and record results
- Communicate and report to Community Development Manager

**Experience and skills**
- Demonstrated knowledge of, and respect for, the multiple causes of homelessness and barriers to finding and maintaining housing, including for those with the highest challenges.
- A keen ability to identify solutions and problem-solve using innovative thinking, resourcefulness and creativity.
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to develop relationships and understand and appreciate the different needs and motivations of participants and stakeholders.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities and deadlines.
- Ability to work as part of a team but is also a self-starter who shows drive when working independently.
- Ability to manage data and personal information, including a firm understanding of data privacy and confidentiality.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite

**Transportation/Travel Information**:Valid driver's licence
