Construction Labourer

**Our Opportunity**

We are seeking a construction labourer to fill a seasonal full-time opening, with potential for year-round employment. Competitive wages with opportunity for a comprehensive benefits package.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Report directly to the Site Foreman
- Receive direction from Site Foreman, assist crew members to execute tasks
- Work closely with all crew members and learn the construction industry standards
- Participate and engage in daily Tailboard meetings, identify hazards and assist in crew compliance to safety policies and regulations
- Complete pre-trip inspections of equipment
- Work safely around construction equipment such as excavators, loaders, dump trucks, roller packers, plate compactors and various hand tools
- Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools including shovels, drills, hammers and other tools as directed by management
- Ensure all hand tools assigned to the crew are cleaned, stored and maintained properly
- Assist machine operators with spotting for overhead and underground utilities
- Assist drivers and vehicles to navigate through site safely
- Safely handle heavy lifting in adverse terrain and weather conditions
- Ability to work in various weather and terrain conditions
- Complete daily timesheet

**Qualifications and Skills**
- Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Previous work in civil construction considered at asset.
- Valid class 5 driver’s licence - Class 3 License and/or Air Brakes an asset.
- Must be personable, able to work independently and as a team, and must possess strong communication skills.
- Experience operating various machines from excavators to skid steers an asset.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 8 months

**Salary**: From $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 60 per week
