**How will this role support our team?**

The incumbent provides legal and administrative assistance to support the operation of the Tribunal Committees. This includes monitoring and adherence to deadlines, reporting, managing and distributing case documents to prepare for hearings and/or Tribunal Committees proceedings.

**Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to)**
- Provide legal and administrative assistance to support the operations of the Tribunal Committees.
- Assist the Manager, Tribunals with tasks related to motions, case management and Tribunal Committees decisions:

- Input case information and results into the case management database. Review case statistics and service standards monthly to identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Respond to queries from external stakeholders (e.g., licensees, complainants, external lawyers and Committee members), related to the hearings process and other Committee work.
- Prepare, compile, format, index, and organize the Tribunal Committees Record for Federal Court cases, _Access to Information Act_ and _Privacy Act_ requests (if applicable).
- Acquire and maintain knowledge of the College’s policies, regulations, and strategies, and keep up to date with relevant developments, applicable legislation, trends and best practices.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure the College meets and delivers on its legislative compliance requirements without delay.

**This role will support our team by providing**
- Knowledge of legal and administrative law concepts, principles and terminology as well as the ability to acquire knowledge of the _College Act_, regulations, By-laws, Code of Professional Conduct and discipline committee rules and procedures
- Time management and organizational skills to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Organizational skills and attention to keep track of deadlines and a high volume of case documents and materials
- Interpersonal and stakeholder relationship management skills to interact professionally and respectfully with stakeholders (Tribunal participants, licensees, counsel, witnesses etc.)
- Written and verbal communication skills to prepare legal documentation (e.g., draft orders, decision letters), and website content to comply with the College’s publication obligations and communicate with stakeholders about issues related to cases, as required
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness of documents and materials
- Tact and discretion to work on confidential and sensitive matters

**Required Education and Experience**
- College Diploma in law (Legal Assistant, Law Clerk or Paralegal)
- 3-5 years of experience working as a law clerk in a law firm, government office or professional regulator, including experience working with administrative tribunals or courts
- Bilingual in English and French
- Knowledge of office/administrative software, online storage and case management systems
