Associate Merchant

Job Description:
Position Overview:
This position is responsible for providing support to the Merchandisers and assist with facilitating trading activities and coordinating logistics for the assigned area.

Key Responsibilities:

- Gain a working knowledge of Trade Group operations including but not limited to sales, logistics, general operations and originations.
- Focus on customer service and generate value for the customer and company from all current and potential marketing opportunities. Develop and support strong relationships with both current and new customers
- Provide trading and logistics support to Merchandisers and Account Representatives
- Perform basic report updates and maintenance

What is expected of you and others at this level:

- Knowledge of grain and the transportation industry
- Knowledge of futures, basis, spreads, currency, grain movement, marketing skills and a general knowledge of sales techniques
- Self-motivated and has strong negotiation skills and ability
- Uses existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems
- Receives instruction, guidance and direction
- Performs routine assignments

Minimum Qualifications & Skills:

- Bachelor’s Degree required (or the equivalent in work experience)
- 1-3 years’ relevant experience required
