**Fabrication Manager Job Description**

**Position Summary**:
The Fabrication Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire fabrication process, ensuring the timely production of high-quality products while maintaining efficiency and safety in the fabrication shop. This role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge of fabrication processes, and a keen ability to manage a team. The Fabrication Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all fabrication operations, including the management of resources, materials, equipment, and staff.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Oversee the daily operations of the fabrication shop, ensuring that all activities run smoothly, efficiently, and safely.
- Supervise and coordinate the work of fabricators, welders, and other shop personnel.
- Ensure fabrication work is completed according to blueprints, drawings, and customer specifications.
- Develop, implement, and enforce fabrication processes, best practices, and quality control measures to ensure high-quality output.
- Monitor production schedules to meet project deadlines and client expectations.
- Manage the procurement and inventory of materials, ensuring the availability of supplies needed for fabrication projects.
- Optimize the use of raw materials to minimize waste and improve cost-efficiency.
- Maintain equipment and tools, ensuring they are in proper working condition and serviced regularly.
- Work with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and supplies.
- Ensure that all fabricated products meet the required specifications, codes, and quality standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of fabricated products and address any issues with quality or workmanship.
- Implement and maintain a robust system for identifying and resolving quality issues during the fabrication process.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the fabrication team, ensuring that all members are properly trained and equipped to perform their jobs effectively.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the fabrication department.
- Organize training and development programs to improve the skills of the fabrication team.
- Prepare and manage the fabrication department’s budget, ensuring projects are completed within budgetary constraints.
- Track production costs, identify areas for cost reduction, and implement cost-effective strategies.
- Approve and monitor overtime and labor costs.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, standards, and company policies.
- Enforce safety protocols and promote a safe working environment for all staff.
- Conduct regular safety training sessions and safety audits to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Ensure all fabrication equipment meets safety standards and is regularly inspected.
- Prepare and maintain accurate reports on production status, equipment maintenance, and inventory levels.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on fabrication performance, project timelines, and any issues that may arise.
- Document and track any changes to designs, schedules, or materials throughout the fabrication process.

**Qualifications**:
**Education & Experience**:

- **7+ years** of experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment, with at least **3+ years** in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong understanding of fabrication processes, including welding, machining, assembly, and finishing.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Experience with managing production schedules and coordinating resources.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations related to fabrication and manufacturing.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficient in using fabrication-related software and tools (e.g., CAD software, ERP systems).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to mentor, coach, and develop staff.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the fabrication shop for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a factory environment, with exposure to noise, heat, and physical demands.

Pay: $85,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
