**General Requirements**
- Assist in the collection, analysis, interpretation, and management of geospatial data to support Kenpesq’t projects, including land management, archaeology, natural resources, infrastructure development, and cultural preservation.
- Lead the development of Kenpesq't’s GIS program, working independently to establish systems, processes, and data standards; collaborate across all departments to integrate GIS into organizational operations and support economic, environmental, and community development goals.
- Create, update, and maintain high-quality maps and geospatial datasets to inform planning, decision-making, and reporting.
- Conduct GIS analysis to support land-use assessments, environmental monitoring, archaeology assessments, and economic development initiatives.
- Develop and maintain spatial databases, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with data standards.
- Assist in field data collection using GPS, UAV (drone), and other tools to support mapping and surveying activities.
- Work with internal departments, consultants, and external partners to gather and validate GIS data relevant to Kenpesq’t and client-based projects.
- Support the development of geospatial visuals and reports for presentations to leadership, stakeholders, and the community.
- Ensure data security, cultural sensitivity, and respect for Indigenous knowledge and land rights in all GIS work.
- Support a range of projects in land management, forestry, archaeology and infrastructure through geospatial analysis, mapping, and data collection.
- Perform other related duties as required to support the general operations and objectives of Kenpesq’t and its affiliated companies.

**Qualifications**
- Diploma or degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geomatics, Geography, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience working in a GIS or mapping-related role, preferably within a land or resource management context.
- Proficient in ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, QGIS, and other geospatial software.
- Experience in GPS data collection and mobile mapping tools.
- Knowledge of spatial data formats, coordinate systems, and metadata standards.
- Understanding of Indigenous land stewardship, environmental planning, or traditional land use is a strong asset.
- Experience with First Nations governments, organizations, or economic development initiatives is considered a strong asset.
**Conditions of Employment**
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- May be required to travel locally for fieldwork t (expenses covered).
- Intermediate First Aid with Travel Endorsement
