**Essential Duties**:
The position of Line Operator for the chemical department executes the production plan, as communicated by the Production Supervisor, in a safe and efficient manner, and produces a high-quality product.
**Responsibilities**:
- Participate in the execution of the chemical production plan in any of the areas listed below as defined and assigned by the Production Supervisor - Chemical
- Operating the Equipment in Sweeping Compound:
- Following established compounding formulas
- Shoveling sand and mixing it with other compounds in the mixing chamber
- Filling, labeling, sealing, and palletizing 22kg, 100kg, and 135kg containers with finished sweeping compound for sales to our customers
- Operating Chemical Fill Lines
- Batching and mixing
- Loading empty bottles onto filling conveyor
- Operating the filling unit by selecting the appropriate fill formula
- Adjusting fill machine for different container sizes
- Connecting Chemical hoses to the filling machine as necessary to select and fill the appropriate chemical
- Monitor the fill machine and take the appropriate action when necessary
- Monitor the labeling machine to ensure proper adhesion of chemical labels
- Load labels as needed
- Monitor and set up the date coding device when necessary
- Package chemical products into erected boxes and ensure the proper labeling and sealing of the box
- Palletize finished goods for warehouse storage as required
- Preparing the fill lines for operation by rinsing, cleaning, adjusting, and performing all necessary set-up work required to fill chemicals
- Fill out any necessary paperwork to record work performed
- Quality
- Monitor the product fill quantities and weights versus established standards and communicate any deviations the Production Supervisor - Chemical, or the Technical Director - Chemical
- Make any necessary quality adjustments as requested by the Production Supervisor or the Technical Director
- Housekeeping
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Collect and take out production related garbage when needed or as requested
- Participate in inventory counts, general workplace cleanliness & organization activities as assigned
- Safety
- Committed to safe behavior and practices while on company premises or engaged in company related work
- Participate in safety related activities (investigations, training, committees, etc.) when requested to do so or as a volunteer
- Any other functions as assigned by your supervisor or a member of Management which at times may mean working in different departments or divisions of Dustbane as needed this includes the Shipping and Receiving department.
Other duties:
- Pick customer orders and prepare for shipping
- Transfer materials/finished goods between divisions
- Restocking picking bins
- Loading and unloading of transport carriers
**Physical Requirements**:
- This position requires prolonged standing and walking
- Must be able to lift 50lbs repeatedly throughout the day
Additional Info:
- Anyone with experience in batching, and compounding a major asset.
- Forklift experience an asset
HOURS OF WORK: MONDAY TO FRIDAY 7AM - 3:30PM.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract, Seasonal
Pay: $18.00 per hour
