Laboratory Technician 3

**Position Overview**
This position is responsible for the collection, receiving, accessioning and preparation of all samples for diagnostic testing and results reporting of clinical samples. The LT3 may also be required to identify and resolve unsuitable specimens for testing. Depending on operational requirements they may be required to assist with training of new staff as well as may rotate through different specified job functions.
**Basic Requirements**
- College diploma from a recognized program or successful completion of MLPAO or successful completion of CSMLS exam in the appropriate field of practice;
- Minimum of six months to one year of experience unless clinical placement was conducted in one of EORLA's labs;
- Knowledge of medical laboratory theory, principles and practices;
- Knowledge of applicable occupational health and safety legislation; transportation of dangerous goods, WHMIS, Universal precautions, safe handling practices;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
As a pre-condition of employment, all new EORLA employees will be required to obtain and provide a satisfactory Criminal Records Check. Please note that a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records Check is required for positions that require Bruyère/St-Vincent rotation. The CRC/VCRC must be dated within six (6) months from the date of issue. Current EORLA employees must obtain and provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records Check, dated within six (6) months from the date of issue, if they are successful to a position that requires Bruyère/St-Vincent rotation.

**Rotation/Shifts**
- Temporary Part-Time (0.60 FTE) [1 vacancy] - until September 29, 2025, approximately - Days, evenings and nights, including weekends, 4 and 8 hour shifts. Rotation to other TOH campuses may be required. For information purposes only - EORLA reserves the right to change.
- Temporary Part-Time (0.10 FTE) [1 vacancy] - until May 28, 2025, approximately - Days, evenings and nights, including weekends, 4 and 6 hour shifts. TOH General Campus with regular rotation between TOHG Phlebotomy and Bruyère/St-Vincent-based sites. Stand by/callback mandatory from 16:00-24:00 on weekdays and from 09:00-24:00 on weekends (including STAT holidays), must be on site within 30-45 minutes of callback. Rotation to other TOH campuses may also be required. For information purposes only - EORLA reserves the right to change.
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Bilingualism is considered an asset;
- Phlebotomy experience is considered an asset.
