Architectural Estimator

Forma Steel specializes in manufacturing high-quality steel roofing, siding, trim, and custom panels in a wide range of gauges, colors, and finishes. We manufacture our product in Fort Macleod, AB, approximately 25 minutes West of Lethbridge.

We are currently looking to fill an exciting new role within our Forma Steel Sales Team:
**Position**: Architectural Estimator

**Job Type**: Permanent Full Time

**Work Schedule**: Monday to Friday

**Reporting to the Director of Sales**, this role will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely cost estimates for architectural projects, including commercial, residential, and institutional developments. This position will work with architects, designers, general contractors, and subcontractors.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Proactively identify and target architects, designers, and contractors using our online project database and industry networks.
- Consult with design professionals to incorporate our products into specifications and drawings.
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, and tender documents to prepare accurate project estimates.
- Manage the full commercial bid process from opportunity identification to submission.
- Collaborate with the Product Manager to support engineering testing, product data development, and compliance with building codes and standards.
- Participate in relevant industry agencies and associations to promote company products and stay ahead of market trends.
- Partner with the outside sales team to coordinate efforts and ensure consistent messaging and customer support.
- Conduct in-person meetings, lunch-and-learn presentations, and training sessions with industry professionals across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia.

**Key Qualifications**
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in architectural sales, commercial construction, or building materials specification.
- Post secondary education in drafting or design, or combination of education and experience
- Strong understanding of architectural drawings, specifications, and the commercial construction bid process.
- Experience with estimating software and project databases.
- Knowledge of building codes and product compliance requirements is an asset.
- Ability to lead professional training sessions.
- Willingness to travel within Western Canada.
