**Laboratory Technician I Job, Cobourg, ON**
***Laboratory Technician I Job Responsibilities**:
- Performs work in compliance with all Arclin policies and procedures including HSE and regulatory requirements. Achieves personal objectives on time, on budget, within agreed quality and quantity parameters.
- Applies creative thinking to new situations/opportunities while balancing creativity with practicality to achieve efficiencies.
- Demonstrates initiative and contributes ideas for process improvements where possible to save time, money or other resources.
- Contributes to project teams utilizing Arclin project management methodologies.
- Sustains a constructive flow of two-way communication with internal and external customers to complete work assignments. Assertively seeks resolution (with Manager), to customer problems/concerns where solutions are not immediately evident.
- Collaborates on project teams and shares knowledge with peers and other team members to assist in the productive flow of work.
- Maintain and operate lab equipment according to Arclin lab policies and procedures. Routinely investigate all lab equipment and arrange for service and repairs as required. Maintain adequate inventory of laboratory supplies.
- Maintain clean and safe environment in the lab including disposing of waste and safe handling of flammable and toxic chemicals in compliance with all HSE regulations.
***Laboratory Technician I Job Requirements**:
- B.S. in Chemistry
- 3-5 years exp working in an industrial laboratory environment
- Must be able to communicate verbally and to prepare written reports with emphasis on technical clarity and accuracy
- Ability to conduct a cost-benefit analysis when considering the replacement of lab equipment to ensure that the company obtains an appropriate return on investment when purchasing new lab equipment.
**Preferred**:
- Industry Exp preferred.
**Experience**: Required
- 1 year(s): Experience working in a Industrial Laboratory environment
**Education**: Required
- Bachelors or better in Chemistry or related field
**Behaviors**: Preferred
