**The Opportunity**
We are looking to add a hardworking and motivated Sewer to our Sewing Department at our Surrey, BC location. This position is responsible for ensuring components are properly sewn per specifications and ensuring production goals/schedules for the day are completed. You will be working with sewing machines/sergers. Full hands-on training will be provided however any prior sewing experience is an asset.
**Qualifications**
- Prior sewing experience working with sewing machines/sergers is an asset
- Strong eye and hand coordination
- Communication skills including the ability to read, write & speak English
- Able to take direction and perform tasks within specified time frames in a fast paced environment
- Team Player
- Excellent attendance & punctuality
- Ability to work overtime as required
**Specific Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Using a sewing machine/serger to sew components for finished goods
- Measure & inspect finished pieces for conformance to specifications
- Sort, stack and redirect sewn components to appropriate area
- Perform daily maintenance on sewing machines/sergers. Notify department manager of any malfunctions or equipment issues.
- Process and sew rush orders as soon as received
- Complete all necessary paperwork or production related documentation in an accurate or timely manner as needed
- Maintain a safe, clean and orderly work station.
- Clean up after self regularly throughout shift and at end of shift.
**Hours of Work**:
This position is Full Time Hourly working Monday thru Friday during our Day Shift: 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Overtime may be required.
**Compensation & Benefits**:
$17.50 to $17.75 per hour + Extended Benefit and Income Protection Package including, Health, Dental, Vision,
Prescription, Life Insurance, AD&D, Long Term Disability & Supplemental Life coverage after 3 months of employment.
Pay: $17.50-$17.75 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
