**SUMMARY OF DUTIES**
Reporting to the Director, Strategic Planning, Policy & Results, and in a collaborative environment, the Data and Reporting Analyst provides expertise in the collection, interpretation and stewardship of corporate performance data so that strategic results and insights can be leveraged to inform plans and decisions, and to demonstrate the impact of Ingenium’s programs on Canadians toward the achievement of its strategic outcomes. The Analyst works with the Advisor, Governance and Compliance to facilitate effective integrated planning and reporting practices, management and Board oversight, in compliance with legislative requirements.
The Analyst supports the work of and contributes to the success of the Strategic Planning, Policy & Results team and Ingenium by offering creative ideas; proactively resolving issues and overcoming obstacles; being a flexible, positive, engaged team member; showing initiative and enthusiasm; working constructively with others to support a healthy work culture; exhibiting Ingenium’s corporate values in support of Ingenium’s mandate, mission and vision.
**EDUCATION**
- Degree in business, commerce, sociology, statistics, economics, communications, data science, or other social science, or acceptable combination of education, training and experience in quantitative research, program evaluation, or visitor studies.
- A master’s degree in any of the above-named fields is an asset.
**EXPERIENCE**
Minimum 3 years’ experience in:
Data collection, statistical analysis and reporting. This includes experience in:
- using data visualization tools for reporting on performance and/or financial data via dashboards (e.g. PowerBI)
- analyzing data sets using pivot tables and formulas in Excel or other data manipulation software
- coding and interpreting qualitative data (e.g. survey responses)
- extracting data and relating data to create and prepare data sets
- coordinating input to, ensuring quality control of, and writing corporate reports (i.e. survey results; annual reports, performance reports, quarterly reports, or other similar)
Collecting, organizing, summarizing, researching, and tracking concurrent files Monitoring issues and trends in the cultural and public sectors
Working effectively with internal and external stakeholders to advance organizational objectives
Making data-driven recommendations and presentations to management and executives
**KNOWLEDGE**
- Data lifecycle management practices
- Ethical considerations for interpreting and presenting qualitative and quantitative data
- Best practices for preparing and presenting data reports for executive leaders
- General governance principles of public organizations
- Key issues and trends in the heritage and museum environment
**ABILITIES**
- Perform and prioritize multiple complex and sensitive tasks with mínimal supervision and under tight deadlines
- Work effectively on advancing a variety of files concurrently
- Manage, analyze, synthesize, and interpret information for reports
- Produce and edit documents thoroughly and with attention to detail
- Develop and maintain effective interpersonal relationships
- Synthesize evidence and practical experience into sound and actionable advice for Executives and Board Trustees
