We are looking for a Full Time Split Shift Early Childhood Educator to join our team. The hours are 7:00-10:00am / 2:00 - 6:00pm M,T,W, F and 7:00 - 10:00am /11:30 - 6:00 Thursday.

Early Childhood Educator duties are as follows:

- Plan, supervise and implement the program for the children/room assignment in accordance with AJM OSC philosophy, policies, and procedures.
- To stay current with research and emerging best practices in health and safety as recommended by licensing and health authorities.
- Participate in recommending training programs, conferences, courses and other areas of professional growth.
- Be responsible for the orderly arrangement, appearance, décor, and learning environment of the rooms and play stations.
- Attend all staff meetings
- Supervise the environment for safety and health of the children
- Treat children with dignity and respect
- Gear the program to meet the needs of the individual children with concerns for their interests and aptitudes.
- Facilitate growth in all areas of development - social, physical, intellectual, creative, and emotional.
- Assume staff housekeeping responsibilities
- Plan and implement methods for effective utilizing the services of the classroom team members
- Plan and implement methods of establishing a positive liaison with parents of the children in the center
- Incorporate families lives, diverse backgrounds and culture into the environment and planning.
- Participate in parent meetings with Director when necessary
- Maintaining a professional attitude and respect for AJM OSC at all times
- Assist in celebrations and events held by AJM OSC
- Any other duty deemed appropriate by Director and/or Owner

**_Skills Required: _**
- Thorough understanding of children’s growth and development
- Thorough understanding of appropriate programming
- Commitment, flexibility and good problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate and maintain positive relationships with children, staff, parents and the community
- Knowledge of community resources
- Ability to represent the program within the community
- Knowledge of Nutrition, health and first aid
- Planning and evaluation skills
- Ability to work as a team member

**_Experience and Education: _**
- Has an Early Childhood Assistant, Worker or Supervisor Certificate
- Some experience with program evaluation and planning

**_Additional Requirements: _**
- Valid First Aid Certification
- Criminal Records Check dated within the last 6 months and every 3 years after

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $17.62-$24.12 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
