**Overview**

**Duties**
- Assist during examinations, and procedures to ensure smooth operations.
- Collect and prepare samples for laboratory testing, including blood, urine, and tissue samples.
- Perform laboratory tests and record results accurately to aid in diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments in shelter and work with veterinary partners
- Monitor animals in recovery and provide compassionate care to animals during hospitalization.
- Maintain detailed medical records for each patient, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Educate pet owners on post-treatment care, medication administration, and preventive health measures.
- Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of surgical instruments and treatment areas to uphold safety standards.

**Experience**
- Prior laboratory experience is highly preferred to efficiently perform diagnostic tests.
- Previous experience working with animals in a veterinary or animal care setting is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with veterinary staff are essential.
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT or RVT) is preferred but not mandatory; relevant experience will be considered.
- Ability to handle animals gently while maintaining safety protocols for both staff and patients. **Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
