**Digital Workplace Technical Lead (Hybrid)**
The Ontario Pension Board (OPB) administers the Public Service Pension Plan (the PSPP), a major defined benefit pension plan sponsored by the Government of Ontario. Reporting to the IT Service & Vendor Manager, the Digital Workplace Technical Lead will collaborate with cross-functional IT teams and other internal stakeholders to drive and support the actualization of OPB’s digital vision, aiming to deliver outstanding user experiences. You will leverage your comprehensive knowledge of digital technologies, workplace solutions, and business process methodologies to design, implement, execute, and maintain digital workplace solutions that enhance OPB’s digital goals, while ensuring a positive and cost-effective digital experience for our internal stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Analyze current digital workplace solutions adopted by the organization, research, evaluate new/emerging technologies (i.e. new Software as a Service (SAAS), Digital Employee Experience (DEX) technologies, etc.) and make recommendations on the adoption of these technologies to address current/emerging business needs.
- Conduct technical needs assessments of businesses/end-users to support the identification of digital workplace requirements.
- Develop and provide technical training and support to end-users. As required, develop, administer end-user evaluation; analyze results and report findings/learnings to inform future implementations.
- Conduct detailed data analysis to gain insights into digital trends, business needs and operational dynamics to provide expert advice to IT/business leaders, to enable informed decision-making.
- Work closely within the IT team to develop and implement digital workplace solutions that align with the organization’s digital goals.
- Collaborate across various business units and find ways to bridge the gap between technology and business needs to ensure seamless integration of digital workplace initiatives.
- Lead and support the implementation of digital workplace initiatives working with and understanding the synergies between technology and business to ensure its alignment with IT Service Management (ITSM) methodologies.
- Identify risks associated with technology adoption and its potential impact on the organization’s digital goals. Develop mitigation strategies as required.
- Work closely with vendor partners in identifying, recommending, designing, and integrating cost-effective digital workplace solutions for business units and broader organization.
- As directed, lead the drafting of business cases for emerging digital workplace technologies for review and approval.
**Key Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience shall be considered.
- Certifications in digital workplace technologies are an asset.
- A minimum of 8 years that combines hands-on work experience within various IT functions and technical expertise in leading the analysis and assessment of end-user digital needs, developing and implementing of digital workplace solutions for a medium size organization.
- Experience with digital modernization projects that support emerging business needs and demands. Exposure to developing and administering end user evaluations is preferred.
- Excellent organization and project management skills to support the inception through the delivery of digital workplace solutions.
- Proficient in designing customized digital workplace solution strategies. Exposure to developing project schedules including milestones, critical path, timelines, deliverables and reporting.
- Strong communication, consultative, and collaboration skills. Demonstrated experience and adaptability in writing reports aimed at both a non-technical and technical audience to bridge the gap between technology and business needs.
- Experience in drafting end user training content and facilitate end user training sessions as necessary.
- In-depth understanding of cloud technologies and cloud adaptation frameworks and the challenges associated.
- Proficient research skills to complete comprehensive analyses on latest digital trends to support the digital workplace strategies/decisions for the organization and business units.
- Demonstrated technical leadership skills to provide advice and contribute to the development of digital workplace solutions roadmap to achieve organizational goals.
- Demonstrated ability to perform detail data analysis to gain insights into digital trends, business needs and operational dynamics to provide expert advice to business leaders, enabling informed decision-making.
