Electrical Meter Field Service Technician

**Due to growing demands within our business, **we are currently looking to fill four new positions. These roles are critical to help us manage the additional business and ensure we continue to meet our goals effectively.

As an Electrical Meter Technician working mainly in the field in the GTA area, you would be responsible for commissioning, inspection, service and facilitating project delivery of metering installation systems across residential and commercial sectors.

**Responsibilities**
- Commissioning of onsite of water, electricity, thermal energy metering installations.
- Verification inspections of metering installations as per VIP Quality Management System procedures and Measurement Canada standards.
- Configuration and programming of metering hardware.
- Meter communication wiring, networking hardware installation and troubleshooting.
- Site meter data and communications setup in company Head End System.
- Monitoring of meter communication performance to ensure successful data transmission.
- Electrical panel assembly/disassembly during meter installation inspections.
- Management of onsite commissioning, inspection and communications related activities including coordination with other construction trades.
- Onsite installation support and contractor training.
- Quality document and record administration as per established QMS procedures.
- Managing material and company assets in line with established inventory management processes.
- Customer service work including communications and meter operation troubleshooting & repair.
- Providing support to VIP project managers and clients to ensure that projects are delivered on-time, within scope.
- Maintaining positive relationships with property managers, site personnel and customers to fulfill work tasks and assignments.

**Qualifications**
- Technologist Diploma from a recognized College / Technology Institution.
- Preference is for a fully qualified Meter Technician with a C. Tech or CET designation.
- Knowledge of electrical distribution systems in commercial and high rise / multi-residential settings.
- Experience working in electrical and/or metering industry
- Knowledge of Measurement Canada standards and procedures.
- Strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work with hand tools and test instruments.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with MS Office tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Self-motivated, responsible, able to work well independently balancing multiple priorities.
- Meticulous in attention to details, able to follow quality instructions and procedures.
- Safety training including arc-flash, working at heights, etc. considered an asset.
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle are required (mileage compensated).
- Must be willing to travel to job sites within and outside of Ontario if required.

Pay: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
