Precise Tool & Die Limited is looking for a Buyer/Planner to join our team

We are located in Whitby, minutes from the 401 and we are a global supplier to the automotive, consumer products, and defense industries. We specialize in precision tooling, stampings, and assembled components.

This is a full-time, permanent day-shift position reporting to the General Manager.

**Responsibilities**:

- Purchase all production materials, supplies and services from suppliers on the approved vendor list and purchase all non-production items, as required;
- Negotiate vendor terms, pricing and delivery; reduce the purchase cost of inventory and outside services;
- Create purchase orders, obtain approvals, arrange transport and expedite any supply issues to ensure material is available to meet customers' requirements;
- Source new vendors and maintain the approved Vendor List (AVL) in conjunction with Quality and Engineering; source vendors for material and outside services for new product quotations;
- Monitor inventory to ensure only required inventory level is maintained;
- Organize year-end inventory count and reporting;
- Maintain Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) records for material purchases;
- Source scrap metal dealer and manage the account including scrap pickups;
- Support the NCR system, troubleshoot supplier non conformances and provide root cause and corrective actions, as required;
- Plan and prepare Production and Tool Room Schedule to meet customer requirements;
- Prepare Production Work orders and close Production Work orders when complete;
- Monitor and follow up on variances in Production Work orders and WIP tracking.;
- Maintain customer's routing instructions, and NAFTA, Conflict Minerals and AALA certificates;
- Generate packing slips and prepare shipping waybills and export documentation, as required;
- Liaise with customers to support expedited customer requirements, as required;
- Act as ISO Auditor and participate in annual ISO audit;
- Participate in staff and team meetings, as required;
- Other responsibilities that may be assigned, as required.

**Job Skills & Qualifications**:

- Education Required: APICS certification; University or college degree in an applicable field;
- Skills Required: ability to problem solve and facilitate continuous improvement; ability to read engineering drawings and specifications; strong organization skills and general knowledge of office procedures and practices;
- Communication: oral, written and presentation skills in English;
- Computer skills: experience with an integrated ERP system; experience with Office 365;
- Work experience: 3+ years in a manufacturing environment is preferred;
- Strong customer service orientation.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $45,000.00-$65,000.00 per year

**Experience**:

- purchasing: 3 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Association for Supply Chain Management Certification (preferred)
