Position Summary
The Tool Rental Associate is responsible for ensuring efficient day-to-day operation in the Tool Rental department and to ensure that available equipment is reliable and properly maintained. They are responsible for providing a distinct customer service experience to all customers. A Tool Rental Associate must have a basic knowledge of all tools and assist in effectively managing the tool inventory by maintaining and repairing tools as necessary.

Job Duties
- Providing first class customer service at all times
- Performing basic preventive maintenance on tools and analyzing information to recognize potential problems, identifying causes of equipment problems (loose parts, misuse by customers, etc.) and proposing solutions
- Using information from manuals, vendors, etc. to help diagnose problems and restore equipment
- Cleaning, inspecting, and preparing tools for rental to customers
- Ensuring tools are repaired and available for rental in a timely manner while keeping costs to a minimum
- Processing tool rental transactions (logging repairs and work orders, generating contracts, taking deposits, turning contracts into invoices upon equipment return etc.)
- Helping customers by providing information and answering questions about features and benefits of merchandise
- Ensuring rental equipment is properly displayed, signed, and maintained
- Demonstrating working knowledge and/or hands-on experience with all products in department to aid in explaining needs to complete customer projects
- Must operate computer and follow all related procedures
- Maintaining knowledge of all tools including how to maintain, repair, order parts, proper usage, etc.
- Assist other departments when required (ie. counter service desk)
- Comply with Moffatt and Powell policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned by management

**Requirements**:

- Excellent customer service skills, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
- Basic knowledge of tools including how to maintain, repair, order parts, proper usage, etc.
- Ability to make excellent sales to achieve performance in alignment with goals and objectives
- Decision making ability and problem solving skills

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

- Ability to use computer, programs such as Biztrack

Work Conditions
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Predominately work indoors; some outdoor work may be required
- Carry / move product up to 50lbs as needed
- Able to work days, evenings, and weekends
- Able to work overtime as required
