**Job Duties**

As a construction crew member, you’ll take part in completing a diversity of tasks throughout the working season.

General tasks will include
- Pruning shrubs and small trees
- Adding soil, mulch, and river wash stone to new and existing landscapes
- Operating a wide range of machinery: grass trimmers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, etc.
- Planting shrubs and trees
- Sodding and grading of sites
- Working with interlocking stone and flagstone
- Spring and fall cleanups

**Requirements**:

- Steel-toed safety shoes - All other mandatory PPE is provided
- Willingness to work in a variety of weather
- Willingness to work on ladders up to 10’
- Ability to lift 30lbs
- Eligible to work in Canada

**Not required but considered an asset**
- Horticulture experience
- Valid G Class driver's license
- First-aid training

**Details**

Workdays start at 7 am and we return to our meeting spot by 4:30 pm. We meet at St Laurent Shopping Centre in the East end of Ottawa. From there, crews travel together to job sites in company vehicles.

Team members must have reliable transportation to and from the meeting spot each work day. (Public transit to the shopping center is available).

A typical work week is Monday to Friday. During our busy spring and fall season: work may be rescheduled for Saturdays due to poor weather.

**Hours Per Week**: 35 - 45 hours (averaging +/- 40)

**Season Duration**: April to December 1st (weather depending).

**Salary**: $19.00-$23.00 per hour

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Ottawa, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Skilled Labor: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- G Class Driver's License (preferred)
