- Part Time - Monday-Wednesday 2pm-6pm; alternating weekends 830am-130pm

Since we operate inside a healthcare facility, health clearance is required before joining our team. Part of that health clearance process is providing proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or providing a documented exemption to be approved by Hamilton Health Sciences.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide excellence in customer service by welcoming our customers in a warm and friendly manner, sharing product knowledge with them, developing partnerships with our regular customers and provide quick efficient service at the cash area
- Effectively operate the POS system with mínimal cash variances, if applicable
- Balances cash tray before and after each shift
- Handles food including preparing food items and utilizing safe food handling practices
- Ensures areas are properly stocked with products
- Monitor employee discounts
- Understands and follow shop procedures
- Works with the sales team to be part of an efficient, motivated and cohesive team
- Ensures and maintains shop security at all times
- Participates in stock taking when necessary
- Communicates customer requests and concerns and any suggestions to the Food Service Manager, Assistant Manager or Team Coordinator
- Works scheduled shifts
- Makes helping the customers with their buying decisions the top priority
- Perform other specific duties as directed by the Food Service Manager, Assistant Manager or Team Coordinator
- Upholds the integrity of the shop and the Volunteer Association

**Qualifications**:

- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated
- Able to develop a positive team atmosphere in the shop
- Excellent customer service skills
- Previous food sales experience preferred
- Food Handler’s Certification
