The County of Elgin has an exciting opportunity for a Temporary Part-Time Dietary Aide at Terrace Lodge. Terrace Lodge "the heart of caring and sharing" Terrace Lodge is a 100-bed long-term care home in the Township of Malahide. Situated in beautiful Elgin County, our home features private and semi-private accommodation with 24-hour nursing care. Outdoor areas to relax with family, as well as living and dining areas are available for resident enjoyment. **Responsibilities**: As a Dietary Aide, you will be responsible for basic food preparation, assisting the Cook where needed, and handling food in accordance with safety and sanitary regulations. You will also be responsible for service of food, setting and clearing tables, and receiving goods delivered to the dietary department. Attention to detail is key, as you will keep accurate records while maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment (knowing the proper procedures for operating and cleaning all equipment, utensils, work services, etc. used in food service areas). What can you expect as an employee? - Competitive compensation - $27.11 to $27.56/hr (2024) with 14% in lieu of benefits and 4% vacation pay, paid each pay. - Offered enrollment in the OMERS pension plan (if enrolled, in lieu of benefits will reduce to 9%). - Employee & Family Assistance Program (Homewood Health). - Rewarding and impactful work. - Flexible scheduling options, including shift swapping directly through the Staff Schedule Care app **Qualifications**: - Successful completion or enrollment in a Food Service Worker program meeting the requirements of the Ontario Long-Term Care Homes Act - Current Safe Food Handling Certificate - A passion for serving others and providing quality care - Cook diploma (an asset) - Excellent communication skills **Conditions of Employment**: - Successful completion of a police record check with vulnerable sector clearance. - Satisfactory TB documentation Personal information for this position is collected under the authority of the Municipal Act, S.O. 2001, as amended.
