**JOB TITLE**: Trustee Services Officer

**Job Type**: Full-time, Fixed-term contract, Renewed Annually

**Contract length**: 12 months

**Pay**: From $56,000.00 per year

Welcome Housing and Support Services is seeking a Trustee Services

Officer to report to the Director of Strategy and Development. The

Program Officer is responsible for delivering and administering the

Financial Trustee Services Program provided through Welcome Housing. A

trustee Officer will ensure the program is highly responsive to the needs of

individuals accessing services and operates in a highly efficient and client
- centered manner to help individuals maintain stable housing and debt

repayment.

**To fulfill this role, the Officer must**:
Recognize the complex barriers of mental health and addictions

Facilitate and coordinate an individual’s key support systems

Collaborate with relevant community stakeholders to help meet the needs

of diverse clients

Have a basic understanding of personal banking, financial tracking and an

overall financial literacy

Provide friendly and professional support to a client base whom may have

a variety of unique challenges and barriers

The responsibilities of the Program Officer include, but are not limited to:

- Completing client intake
- Assist a client in obtaining and managing relevant financial income

sources such as Subsidy, Canadian Pension Plan and Income

Assistance.
- Ensuring that clients’ bills are paid in a timely fashion
- Creating monthly budgets for clients that account for bill and arrears

payments and supporting financial literacy
- Ensuring that client trustee accounts are balanced and maintained
- Addressing client finance-related questions and assisting in

educating clients on their finances
- Coordinating money movement activities including monthly payment

of all clients after bills and rent through various methods such as

direct deposit, mailed cheque, and through cash handling
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and maintain an accurate list

of all client-related information
- Stay updated with any policy changes affecting the Trustee Program

by Community Services and any emerging changes in the human

services landscape that may impact clients or service delivery.
- Advocate for clients with all relevant stakeholders, including

Community Services, Case Workers, other partner agencies,

Regional Housing Authority, and other Community Services.
- Attend all trustee-related meetings as required by Community

Services.
- Prepare reports, statistics, and related materials and distribute them

to appropriate individuals and agencies.
- Develop and implement new best practices for the program through

increased efficiencies, leveraging relevant technology, and working in

a collaborative environment.
- Ensure that best practices are followed throughout the lifecycle of

the client from intake to discharge including:

- Completing confidentiality and trustee agreement forms.
- Collaborating with the team to review complex cases.
- Adhering to policies for intake, client servicing, discharge and

ongoing client relationships after discharge.

**Additional Requirements**:
Troubleshooting issues that may arise through collaboration with the

Director of Strategy and Development and other parts of the Management

Team is a key responsibility of this position. The above list of

responsibilities is not exhaustive, as other responsibilities may be assigned

at the discretion of your manager. The role will require a lot of compassion

and professionalism as we are often the clients primary financial steward

and trusted with their financial well being. Respect for the client,

maintaining safe and professional boundaries and conflict de-escalation

are daily expectations in the role.

- Post Secondary Education
- Preference given to those who have a post-secondary education in

Social Services or Financial Services Fields.

**Application and Selection**

As this position is a unionized position, interview and selection process will

proceed in accordance with current collective agreements. Applicants

Welcome Housing that would align with their qualifications.

Pay: $55,000.00-$56,000.00 per year
