Childcare Custodian

**Responsibilities**
- Maintain a clean and orderly childcare centre including classrooms, bathrooms and kitchen
- Daily cleaning duties such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping
- Heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls/mirrors and removing garbage
- Seasonal, routine maintenance activities such as leaf pick up, salting the side walk, cleaning snow or debris from the sidewalk
- General maintenance including mechanical equipment and kitchen equipment
- Complete maintenance and repair logs, complete daily health and safety checks and notify management of any need for repairs
- Build materials, put together shelves, toys and boards as requested
- Steam chairs and carpets once a week
- Attend and participate in health and safety meetings
- Requisition of supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time

- Comfortable working with various cleaning materials such as bleach

**Qualifications**
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs
- Valid Standard (Infant/Child) First Aid and CPR Level C
- Health and Safety Certificate
- Shift 12pm-9pm (Monday-Friday)
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Criminal reference check (within the last six months)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
