As a Support Worker with ISSI, you will play a crucial role in supporting, empowering and building community for individuals in all aspects of life, including their home, work, leisure and other community involvement. Your responsibilities include:

- To fulfill the responsibilities of a Support Worker: supporting, empowering, and fostering community, while also meeting both general and specific organizational obligations,
- Supporting individuals to develop and nurture their relationships with family, friends, neighbors and other citizens.
- Implementing Behaviour Support Plans, following complex support with creativity and respect.
- Being accountable to individuals regarding dignity, respect, and the quality of services provided, while involving family and friends in supportive decision-making.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Willingness to participate or have interest in a variety of community activities including but not limited to; knitting, attending concerts or live events, swimming, walking, going to the movies, cooking and shopping.
- Experience and ability to successfully support people with challenging behaviors.
- Experience working with individuals with Mental Health is an asset.
- Ability to provide comprehensive support across various aspects of daily living, including but not limited to light household responsibilities such as meal preparation, cleaning, transporting laundry to and from designated facilities, grocery shopping, and assisting with carrying groceries and laundry in and out of the home.
- Assisting with booking and attending medical appointments.
- Experience with supporting individuals to plan personal vacations which includes assisting with budgets, bookings etc.
- Work alone at various times of the day providing support to multiple individuals.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members, individuals and stakeholders.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work a variety of shifts including weekends.
- Commitment to promoting a safe and inclusive environment for all individuals.
- Valid Full G drivers license.
- CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: From $23.93 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 20 per week
