Must be 19 years of age with a valid first aid certificate and proof of compliance with provincial TB regulations. A criminal record check will be conducted.

Experience in an out-of-school care, or other child care setting is an asset.

This is a very hands-on position involving direct supervision of Gr. K to 3 children daily. Staff must be able to fully immerse themselves in the children's play, while ensuring a safe, healthy and nurturing environment. The children engage in arts & crafts, cooking & baking, organized games & sports, weekly outings and free play daily. Staff must be prepared not only to engage in these activities, but to plan and implement them as required. Active participation with the children in both group and one-on-one settings is a must. Staff will be expected to maintain positive and supportive relationships with families as well.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 7:30 - 9:15 / 2:00 - 6:00. Starting salary is $21.28 per hour for approximately 30 hours per week. Eight hours per day on all non-instructional days and during seasonal breaks. After 3 months employee is entitled to benefits, which include EHB, dental and pension plan.
Lord Tennyson has been providing care to families in the Kitsilano area for more than 40 years. We have an active program, a great work environment and a dynamic staff team.
