Grocery Manager

We are looking for an experienced Grocery Manager to join our _**Ladysmith**_ location. Experience in grocery and in management is definitely an asset, but what we’re really looking for is someone who wants to be part of a new team of exceptional workers who takes pride in their work.

The 49th Parallel is a family run business, proudly operating in and around the Cowichan Valley for over 40 years Our growing business is built on the exceptional customer service our staff provide and we are looking to expand our team.

**We’re looking for someone who will**
- Be a team leader and who comes to work everyday with a positive attitude ready to coach and motivate our employees.
- Actively participate in the recruitment and onboarding for new team members in all departments.
- Have a friendly and outgoing personality, ready to go above and beyond for our customers and ensure they have a positive shopping experience.
- Assist our Store Manager to achieve company targets and departmental initiatives by managing inventory, labor, and merchandise.
- Utilize their knowledge of the 49th standards of quality to plan, order, and process products while achieving sales and profit targets.
- Ensure staff are well trained and knowledgeable and departments are well stocked with beautifully displayed products.
- Oversee the health and safety of our employees and customers by maintaining a neat and tidy work area and ensuring proper food safe processes are followed.

**Additional Requirements**
- Minimum 5 years management experience ideally in grocery with an understanding of scheduling multiple, large departments
- Strong leadership skills with effective numeracy and organizational abilities
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Able to regularly lift 25 pounds
