**The opportunity**:
Reporting to Managing Director, the Finance Specialist collaborates with both the Head, the Managing Director and stakeholders in the system to realize the Department of Pediatrics and Child Health’s strategic and operational plans. The Finance Specialist is responsible for the specialized financial oversight of the Department of Pediatrics and Child Health accounts.

The incumbent provides CPA designation level accounting expertise in the broad areas of Budget Management, Reporting and Analysis, Projections/Forecasting, Policies and Procedures, Audit/Authorization Controls, Strategic Planning and Ad Hoc Financial Projects. The incumbent is responsible for coordination of a diverse portfolio of funding including Operating, Research, and Trust Funding within the University of Manitoba; Overhead Funding within the University Medical Group; Program, Research and Other Special Purpose Funding within HSC; and aspects of Medical Remuneration Funding within WRHA. The incumbent is responsible for reconciling the contracts/agreements with Physicians, Doctor’s Manitoba, MSAS, PARIM, CancerCare, Manitoba Justice, MD Practice Solutions, UMFA and CHRIM, as it relates to physician and UMFA Member’s pay.

**The qualifications and experience we’re looking for**:
Completion of formal accounting designation (CPA) is preferred and a minimum of 3 years of related experience in a senior finance role required.
