**Position Summary**

Working collaboratively with all ACM Designs staff, suppliers, and contractors, this position is responsible for interpreting design and construction documents, preparing and finishing surfaces to a professional standard, and ensuring projects are completed within agreed timelines and quality goals. With demonstrated experience in drywall finishing, surface preparation, and painting techniques, this role ensures the integrity of each finish through inspection, correction of inconsistencies, adherence to safety protocols, and professional client interaction.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

Under the supervision of the Owner and Construction Project Coordinator, the duties and responsibilities of the **Drywaller / Painter** include, but are not limited to, the following:
**General Responsibilities**
- Report to and take direction from the Owner and Construction Project Coordinator.
- Work collaboratively to ensure all job site projects are completed on schedule.
- Post safety boards and permits at job sites and follow all safety procedures.
- Maintain professional, respectful interactions with clients, contractors, and team members.

**Drywalling Duties**
- Site preparation to ensure protection of surfaces and dust mitigation.
- Measure, cut, and install drywall sheets on walls and ceilings according to project specifications.
- Tape, mud, sand, and finish drywall seams, corners, and joints to achieve a smooth surface.
- Repair or patch damaged drywall as required.
- Inspect surfaces for flaws and correct imperfections before painting.
- Target of level 5 finish.

**Painting Duties**
- Site preparation to ensure protection of surfaces and dust mitigation.
- Prepare all surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, patching, masking, priming, and taping.
- Follow detailed paint schedules, specifications, and finish samples provided for each project.
- Perform high-quality painting and finishing tasks on drywall, wood, trim, millwork, cabinetry, ceilings, doors, and exterior surfaces.
- Conduct final touch-ups and ensure all finishes meet ACM Designs’ quality standards.

**Site and Equipment Management**
- Visit various job sites daily/weekly as required.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas at all times, protecting client belongings and surrounding finishes.
- Receive, organize, and store drywall and painting materials safely on-site.
- Maintain an organized inventory of supplies and notify the Office when restocking is required.
- Operate and maintain all hand and power tools (e.g., mudding tools, sanders, sprayers, rollers, brushes).
- Dispose of paint and drywall waste according to environmental regulations.

**Project Coordination and Communication**
- Take accurate site measurements and assess surface conditions before beginning work.
- Support the final installation process, including touch-ups around cabinetry, hardware, and fixtures.
- Update and complete items on audit/deficiency lists as assigned.
- Communicate daily with the Construction Project Coordinator regarding project progress, delays, or client concerns.
- Take photos and videos for project documentation.
- Attend weekly office and construction meetings and contribute as required.

**Other Responsibilities**
- Assist other trades when not engaged in drywalling or painting tasks.
- Ensure tools and PPE are in proper working order and report missing or damaged items.
- Participate in all required safety training sessions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

**Minimum Requirements**
- **2+ years of proven experience** in drywall installation, finishing, and painting.
- Proficient with hand and power tools related to drywall and painting (e.g., trowels, sanders, sprayers).
- Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding, and in varied indoor/outdoor conditions.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Consistent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans.
- Strong problem-solving skills and initiative in addressing on-site challenges.
- Physically capable of lifting and handling materials as required.
- Knowledge of safety practices, environmental standards, and waste handling.
- Team player who is reliable, motivated, and eager to learn.

**Assets**
- Previous experience working with a design/build or renovation company.
- Working knowledge of design and construction terminology.

**Working Conditions**
- Must maintain up-to-date construction-related certifications (e.g., Working at Heights, First Aid, WHMIS).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
- Travel required to various project sites, suppliers, and training sessions as needed.
