We're looking for a tax manager with at least five years of experience in a senior position at a public accounting firm to join the team.
- Job Responsibilities: _
- Work closely with the principal as a senior team member on complex tax planning projects. Proactively understand the needs of the client and collaborate with the client and other relevant professionals to develop valuable tax planning and solution strategies.
- Under the guidance of the principal, planning and organizing teams for the preparation of personal and corporate tax returns and other related working papers
- Lead client-facing engagement team responsible for completion of Canadian personal and corporate tax engagements
- Preparing complex personal and corporate tax returns
- Maintain high level of quality control by reviewing tax returns and other work done by other junior members of the team for accuracy and completeness
- Ensure that all work is completed and documented in accordance with our prescribed standards. Ensure work is billed in a timely manner.
- Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
- Serve as a mentor to associate-level accountants, including providing mentoring and technical guidance to staff and providing honest and timely performance feedback to address sub-standard work.
- Manage the business relationship of client engagements with a focus on high-value, high-quality tax advice and seek to expand other firm services to clients
- Research and analyze a wide range of tax issues
- Other responsibilities as assigned
- Job Requirements: _
- Minimum 6 years experience specializing in Tax in a public accounting firm in a senior position
- Professional Accounting designation (CPA, CGA, CA)
- Experience with review engagement (preferred)
- Experience with foreign reporting
- Completed or nearly completed the CPA In-Depth Tax Course (preferred)
- Self-starter, highly motivated, thrives on challenges
- Excellent people management and leadership skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong focus on client service
- Strong communication skills in both English and Mandarin, both verbally and in writing.
**Salary**: From $85,000.00 per year
