The Manager is responsible for facilitating the care of the patients of the Clinton Public Hospital Inpatient unit (Medicine and Complex Continuing Care) and the Emergency Department. The Manager will provide operational leadership and management of their departments and work cooperatively with all patient care areas, diagnostic, therapeutic, support and medical staff to support patient flow. The manager will ensure quality patient care and competent, safe practice by coordinating staffing levels, reviewing workload measurement trends, addressing workload concerns, conducting quality audits, assessing and evaluating staff development and identifying educational needs and arranging education opportunities. Further the Manager will foster positive employee relations through knowledge of collective agreements and corporate and departmental policies and procedures. The manager will provide significant input into departmental budget preparations, monitor expenditures, provide rationale for variances and create a plan to correct them. As a dynamic leader, the manager will demonstrate creativity, flexibility and innovation to build an effective team where the voice of the patient and the voice of the staff co-create the way we deliver exceptional patient care. The Manager is responsible for the operational management of their assigned cost centres, advancing the corporate priorities of the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance (HPHA), performing to the full scope of the HPHA Leadership Accountability and ensuring continuous quality improvement.

POSITION WILL BE POSTED UNTIL FILLED
QUALIFICATIONS:
**Education**:
- Current registration with, or be eligible for registration with, the College of Nursing or another respective regulated College
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
- Project Management and Lean Certification preferred
Experience (preferred):
- 3 - 5 year’s current progressive experience in an acute care setting preferred
- Minimum three years’ experience working in Medicine, Rehabilitation and Emergency Medicine preferred
- Previous management experience an asset
- Experience leading clinical quality care initiatives preferred
- Experience participating in working groups and leading interdisciplinary groups
- Passion and commitment to coaching and leading others.
Abilities:
- Demonstrated exceptional leadership and team building skills
- Support and provide direction to staff and interdisciplinary team in a highly stressful and rapidly changing environment
- Proven ability in working effectively with all members of health care team;
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral/written communication skills, problem solving, negotiation, conflict resolution and decision making skills
- Proven management skills including financial, human resources, evaluation, planning, organizational, utilization and time management skills
- Contributes to Program planning and operations, as well as participating in hospital-wide initiatives.
- Innovate and guide the team to drive clinical excellence and the constant pursuit of best practice.
- Possess skills to effectively influence for change management and quality improvement
- Knowledge of Hospital policies and procedures, relative legislation, collective agreements, Canadian Hospital Association Standards, College of Nurses of Ontario Standards of Nursing Practice, nursing theories and a research based professional role
- Knowledge of budgeting process
- Demonstrated commitment to person centered care and interprofessional practice model of care
- Demonstrated analytical skills necessary to gather and interpret qualitative and quantitative data
- Well-developed computer skills, including knowledge of Meditech, Microsoft Office, Word and Excel programs
