**About the Role**

As a Retail Sales Associate at Arrow Wood Games, you will play a pivotal role in providing exceptional customer service. This part-time position (12-20 hours/week, with the potential to build out more in the future as we grow) _**requires availability on Fridays (including some evenings until 10:30pm), Saturdays, and Sundays **_(with the potential for other days as well). This is a keyholder role who will be responsible for opening and closing the store.

Some experience with a variety of tabletop games is an asset. Your positive attitude, ability to connect with people, dedication, and work ethic matter even more.

**What you’ll do in this role**:

- Maintain a professional demeanor, and act as a role model for other employees and customers.
- Handle the constantly changing needs of a high speed retail business and take on tasks as required
- Keep the store and events space looking great by doing things like restocking products, tidying, and deeper cleaning.
- Handle transactions accurately and efficiently including operating a point of sale (POS) system to accurately process payments.
- Learn and maintain knowledge about the products and events the store offers, and be able to provide expert knowledge, recommendations and assistance to ensure an enjoyable shopping experience.
- Conduct opening and closing procedures for the store, including ensuring cash registers are balanced and following security procedures.

Must meet these basic requirements:

- Manage cash, and open and close the register for your shifts
- Stand or walk for long periods
- Lift up to 20 pounds
- Move up and down ladders multiple times each day
- Work evenings and weekends

**Preferred but not required**:

- Prior retail, events, and/or service industry experience
- Experience playing modern classic games like Catan, Ticket to Ride, Carcassonne, 7 Wonders, Codenames, and similar titles
- Knowledge of D&D or other role playing games

**Other details**:

- Compensation: $18-23/hour, plus some other game store perks
- We are also hiring for other roles at Arrow Wood Games. It is possible to combine more than one position to create a single position with more hours.
