**Rundle Construction Inc. is actively looking for Forman (Lowering-In) for the Trans Mountain Expansion Pipeline Project - Section 5B in British Columbia.**
ROLE**

This role is responsible for managing and supervising production crews, ensuring productivity of crews, coordination, and smooth and safe operation of pipeline construction activities on the project. They are responsible for being the point of contact between construction and management.

This position is also accountable for coordinating tasks for the day, creating schedules for workers, oversee production, and making sure the production is as per project quality requirements. The Foreman will be reporting progress of the project to supervision and management.

The Lowering-In Foreman is a front-line leader of the workforce crews.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Direction and supervision of the crew which effects backfill of the trench following lowering in of the pipeline. May also be responsible for direction and supervision of cleanup crew(s).
- Experience in Dig program, cut outs and re-coats, lower-in, cutting pipe out, bending pipe, digging up pipelines and backfill and clean-up, organizing all day-to-day materials and equipment moves and cost tracking.
- Working around utilities, reading line locate drawings, issuing GD permits.
- Reviewed and audited Crossing Agreements to ensure all legalities have been identified and are executed and in place prior to commencement of work.
- Supervise construction crews for specific project activities under the direction of Construction Management.
- Communicate expected production to workforce, ensure workers understand tasks, and are meeting compliance with worksite rules and safety standards.
- Follow project plans and schedules ensuring that crews perform timely activities to meet production goals
- Provide direction, leadership and support to the Straw. Mentor all personnel.
- Responsible for on-site reporting of labor, equipment, and material. Entering crew hours and equipment in Timesheets and InEight on daily basis. Continuous liaison with Timekeeping for any missing/additional information.
- Weekly review of labor performance and production with crew and addresses results and issues to achieve desired performance.
- Provide leadership that results in a safe work culture (knows, understands, communicates, and ensures compliance). Facilitate safety toolbox meetings.
- Administer effective quality control: overseeing the execution of the work, including quality and production, by ensuring that the crews work to job specifications and follow drawings. Reviews inspection reports and coordinates resolutions to deficiencies.
- Participate in and support day to day disciplinary decisions and those additional discipline actions deemed appropriate by the project senior management. (Hiring, promotions, and corrective action).
- Identify and report any scheduling conflicts with other crews and contractors.
- Prepare reports as required (logs, progress reports, quality control), attend meetings, liaise with client and ensure conflict resolution for workers.
**EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS**
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Journeyman Ticket Intra-Provincial Trade Certification or alternatively or a technical diploma is considered an asset.
- Combination of experience and education will be considered.
**EXPERIENCE** AND SKILLS**
- Minimum 5 years in the pipeline construction industry or oil and gas sector, usually as a bulldozer, dragline or backfill operator, with at least one season in backfill crew(s).
- Minimum 1 year experience in leadership/supervision is an asset
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working around third party utilities, reviewing and auditing crossing agreements and experience working with industry recommended ground disturbance practices
- Minimum 1 year experience in Ground Disturbance in brownfield or urban setting, reading line locate drawings and issuing GD permits.
- Extensive field supervision experience.
- Experience in Dig program, cut outs and re-coats, lower-in, cutting pipe out, bending pipe, digging up pipelines and backfill and clean-up, organizing all day-to-day materials and equipment moves and cost tracking.
- Deep understanding of the oil and gas pipeline construction industry.
- Knowledge of the Work Safe BC and company safety procedures and standards.
- Ability to read and understand construction documents including contracts, drawings, and specifications.
- Knowledge of construction technology, methods, equipment, tools, procedures, scheduling, and cost control.
- Scope of both one’s own and other construction trades.
