Reporting to the Vice President, Academic, the Associate Vice President (AVP), Research and Development is accountable for providing the overall strategic direction and oversight for research and academic development divisions at the college. This includes Applied Research, Institutional and Strategic Research, Program and Curriculum Development, Quality Assurance, Faculty Development, The Colbourne Institute for Inclusive Leadership, and other related projects. The AVP wil also lead and manage and business processes that span the academic portfolio such as financial modelling, contract management, and strategic risk management. You will oversee the development of the e-scan that supports the strategic plan and aligns with the overall college strategy focused on research and alternative revenue. This position collaborates with teams and leaders across the college with a focus on future opportunities in research and business risks from a quality assurance perspective. **HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE**: You will use your interpersonal and leadership skills to promote collaboration and communications across the college ensuring a cohesive, coordinated, and strategic approach designed to facilitate and enable the college’s strategic plans. You will oversee all divisions responsible for research and academic development and strategically enabling them to reduce overall costs, promote business development; collaboration, communication, and relationship management with a range of stakeholders through the various operations and initiatives. **WHAT YOU BRING**: - University graduate degree, preferably at the Doctoral level. - A minimum of five years academic administrative experience at a post-secondary institution, preferably at the Dean level. - Budget management of >$10M annually. - A research/scholarship portfolio, including experience working with at least one of the Tri-Council agencies; OR - significant program development experience; OR - significant educational technology experience, including faculty development. - Experience writing and obtaining grants. **WHAT MAKES YOU A DIFFERENCE MAKER?** - Strategic foresight, as the impact you make in this role directly or indirectly impacts the entire college, enabling decisions that support research growth and the development of programs as well as key results reported at Board committees. - Conceptual thinking to see opportunities that others may not see. - Ability to form partnerships, collaborations, and alliances to help the College achieve its goals. - Sound judgment in high pressure situations. - Outstanding analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills. - Strong presentation and consultative skills to provide advice to the Strategic Operations Committee, Deans’ Council, Strategic Enrolment Management, Academic Council, and Executive Team. **Salary**: $171,804 - $204,789 reflective upon your education and experience.
